Introduction
The 14-item Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being scale (WEMWBS) is a set of questions designed to monitor mental wellbeing at a population level and to evaluate projects, programmes and policies which aim to improve mental wellbeing. It is important to note that the instrument is not designed as a screening instrument to detect mental illness, it does not provide a cut point to indicate mental wellbeing. All WEMWBS items are worded positively and cover both feeling and functioning aspects of mental wellbeing. Additionally, this scale is validated in Nepal in 2018 among leprosy-affected people.
The available SWEMWBS is a shortened version of the WEMWBS.
