Introduction
The 12-item Craig Hospital Inventory of Environmental Factors (CHIEF) is an abbreviated version of the 25-item CHIEF. The CHIEF was developed by a panel of disability experts to assess the impact of environmental factors on people with disabilities. The items of the CHIEF are grouped into five domains: policies, physical/structural, work/school, attitudes/ support, and services/assistance. Contrary to what the name suggests, the CHIEF has nothing to do with hospitals.
