Lessons learnt from conducting a randomised clinical trial in eumycetoma.

Abstract

Eumycetoma is a chronic and destructive fungal infection that mainly affects the extremities via the development of granulomatous subcutaneous masses. Occurring in tropical and subtropical regions, it is most commonly caused by the fungus Madurella mycetomatis. Often affecting young adults, this neglected tropical disease has severe health and socioeconomic effects.
