Power, participation and promoting equity in the management of skin NTDs
We have the opportunity to enhance participation within the design and delivery of services focusing on the identification, control and management of Skin NTDs through the utilisation of participatory approaches that can challenge power hierarchies and improve programme equity. Within this engaging session, we will present learnings from the REDRESS consortium on the use of innovative visual methods to design, pilot and evaluate integrated health systems strategies for the improved management of skin NTDs in Liberia. We will also host an interactive panel debate where we hear from persons with lived experience, researchers and policy makers on their experiences of utilising participatory approaches, how this has supported the generation of solutions to existing challenges and the potential such strategies have to redress power imbalances in health service design and strengthening ongoing programme delivery.
