Ethical dimensions of community engagement and involvement in global health research

The NIHR global health research portfolio held a webinar for applicants about ethical dimensions of community engagement and involvement in global health research, in partnership with the Institute of Development Studies.

The the speakers for this session are:

1) Dr Bridget Pratt, Senior Research Fellow in the School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. Power sharing in the community: what it means to share power in leadership and in terms of inclusion with case study examples.

2) Dr Dorcas Kamuya, Researcher in Ethics and Community Engagement at Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and Noni Mumba, Head of the Community Engagement Platform at the KEMRI Wellcome Trust Research Programme (KWTRP). Ethical dilemmas in a pandemic – practical examples of how ethical dilemmas were navigated interspersed with questions or provocations related to how seminar participants might navigate these issues in their work.
