NeTroDis
NeTroDis is a research group at the Department of Basic and Applied Biology at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani, Ghana in West Africa. The group is made up of Research Scientists, PhD student researchers, masters and undergraduate students, medical doctors, physician assistants, nurses and health information managers all bounded by a common passion to end NTDs and EIDs. The team is passionate about research in NTDs and EIDs. We have formed strong alliances and collaborations to help do quality, impactful and relevant research. Our core values are community engagement, empathy and impact in research!
- The NTD Support Center has worked collaboratively with more than 135 partners, including 58 ministries of health, to facilitate operational research that addresses neglected tropical diseases.
- NeTroDis is a partner with the NTD Support Center (please check this website https://www.ntdsupport.org/about-us/partners) NeTroDis is also a member of the International Citizen Project on Covid-19, ICPCovid (www.icpcovid.com). The ICPCovid is an international consortium made up of scientists from 22 countries in Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia involved in cutting edge research on COVID-19, impacting policy and implementation in these countries. Dr K.B.Otabil, the head of the NeTroDis group is the Lead Ghanaian Scientist for ICPCovid consortium.
- Dr K.B. Otabil, the head of the NeTroDis group is also a member of the African Research Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (www.arntd.org). The NeTroDis group currently holds a grant from the ARNTD with support from the USAID and UKaid through the Coalition for Operational Research in Neglected Tropical Diseases.
