NAPAL-SL National Association of Persons Affected by Leprosy Sierra Leone
The National Association of Persons Affected by Leprosy (NAPAL) was formed to advocate on behalf of its membership, who might be directly or indirectly affected by leprosy. NAPAL is a non-political, non-sectorial, non-tribal and non-religious association. The association aims at eradicating stigma and promote social inclusion of all persons affected by leprosy, to contribute towards the eradication of leprosy through community engagement, to promote unity and help for Persons affected by Leprosy, to promote empowerment of persons affected by leprosy through vocational skill training, petty trading and any other form of income generating activities for self-reliance.
NAPAL support the physical, social and mental wellbeing of Persons Affected by Leprosy, promote cordial relationship and understanding between Persons Affected by Leprosy and to reduce the rate of dependency among Persons Affected by Leprosy. NAPAL has a range of partners including, Ministry of Social Welfare, Sierra Leone Union on Disability Issues, National Commission for Persons with Disability, Disability Rights Movement, German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Relief Association (GLRA).
