Lobby for inclusion
Since 2012, the DCDD focuses on lobbying for inclusion of persons with disabilities. September 10th, 2015 DCDD-Chair Agnes van Wijnen presented to Minister Ploumen for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation recommendations for implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) that are related to international cooperation. This happened at Leave No One Behind, the symposium organized by the Liliane Foundation at the occasion of its 35th anniversary. Begin 2016, DCDD has succeeded: the Netherlands government will ratify the UN-CRPD. This decision will strengthen the realization of rights of person with disabilities in the Netherlands and in other countries worldwide. The recommendations can be found here.
