About this course

This course provides an orientation for the health workforce of the Member States in the South-East Asia Region on the latest relevant guidance and expert experience on clinical case management across the Region, which is considered urgently required to address knowledge gaps and improve dengue case management across the Region.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Explain the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and early diagnosis of dengue to provide effective management and care
  • Recognize the clinical manifestations, differential diagnosis, and treatment protocols for managing dengue in adult as well as paediatric patients
  • Develop skills to provide home-based care for dengue patients, including recognizing warning signs and knowing when to seek hospital care
  • Gain knowledge in nursing care practices, patient monitoring, and supportive treatments specific to dengue patients
  • Analyze case studies of dengue-related deaths to identify gaps in care pathways and improve overall patient outcomes
  • Master critical care management for severe dengue cases and apply learning through the analysis of real-world case studies
