About this course
Impact evaluation, which measures the extent to which a program's goals and objectives were attained and helps explain those effects, is vital to strategic and cost-effective investment and decision-making.
This course provides an introduction to the application of theories of social and behavior change communication (SBCC) and advanced statistical methods to improve the precision of the measurement of health communication impact. After completing this course, learners will be able to apply basic and advanced multivariate methods to test causal models of communication impact, overcoming threats to validity in evaluation design and strengthening causal inference.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe types of statistical analysis appropriate for measuring the impact of communication on social and behavioral outcomes
- Use simple statistical techniques to test differences between groups of people exposed and not exposed to communication programs
- Use basic and advanced statistical techniques to confirm causal models used to design and implement programs
