Closing the gap: Estimating the investments required to eliminate trachoma (webinar)
Location(s)
About the event
In 2023, the International Coalition for Trachoma Control (ICTC) convened a task team—drawing on its diverse membership of implementing NGOs, academic organizations, donors, and multilateral institutions—to identify existing funding gaps in the global trachoma program. The analysis estimated that between $268 and $334 million dollars is needed to support essential activities for trachoma elimination, including: surgery, mass drug administration, trachoma surveys, and trachoma research between 2025 and 2030. This webinar will present the report’s methodology and key findings, including a breakdown of the costs required for each included category. The report’s findings will serve as an important resource to inform and support strategic fundraising efforts aimed at closing the funding gap and accelerating progress toward the global elimination of trachoma as a public health problem by 2030.
The webinar will take place on 22 April at 09:00–9:40 Atlanta / 14:00–14:40 London/ 15:00–15:40 Geneva / 16:00–16:40 Addis Ababa.
