GAELF - Global Alliance to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis

The Global Alliance to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (GAELF) is a public-private partnership created in 2000 to assist in advocacy, resource mobilisation and programme implementation.

Mission: The mission of the Global Alliance to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) is to bring together a diverse group of public-private health partners to support the Global Programme to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis by mobilising political, financial and technical resources to ensure success.

The Global Alliance to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis  (GAELF), an innovative step of the public private partnership, was formally established in 2000 with the sole purpose of providing fundraising, advocacy, communications and technical assistance to the World Health Organization based Global Programme to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (GPELF).

Initially housed in WHO, Geneva the Secretariat of GAELF, has been formally based at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) since 2004.
