Climate change is one of the main threats facing humanity, yet people with disabilities have been practically absent from these discussions, and there is little literature on the impacts of climate change on their basic rights. The paper seeks to address the impact of climate change on the rights of people affected by leprosy-related disability vis-à-vis human rights approach. The paper highlights the nexus between climate change and the rights of people with leprosy-related disabilities and further argued how climate change affects leprosy patients among others. The paper adopted a doctrinal approach which is library oriented with reliance placed on analysis of contents of both primary and secondary source of information. The primary sources used are relevant international treaties and laws, while the secondary sources include relevant journals, articles, books, and material from the internet. The paper reveals the necessity of integrating crucial insights from disability studies into current understandings of climate change adaptation, the climate-related human rights approach, and the clinical manifestation of leprosy. The paper concluded that climate change is one of the main threats facing humanity, yet people with leprosy related disability and other disabilities impairment have been practically absent from these discussions.
